Mac Basics is a sequence of eight 2-hour introductory lessons separated into two courses of 4 lessons each.

Mac Basics 1

What is Mac Basics 1?
Mac Computer Basics will help you get started and go through all the needed skills to use a Mac computer comfortably.
Covers switching on, sleeping and shutting down, using a mouse and track pad, menus, files, folders and icons, working with windows, the sidebar and Dock, opening Apps, working with documents, the Internet, peripherals, Time Machine, the keyboard and Mission Control.
iPad and iPhone also have familiarisation Courses which will give you a good start to using your iPad and iPhone.

Mac Basics 2

What is Mac Basics 2?
Mac Computer Basics will help you get started and go through all the needed skills to use a Mac computer comfortably.
Covers searching, Quick Look, Dashboard, File Vault, Spaces, App and System Preferences, Software Update and App Store, Browser Apps and World Wide Web, E-mail apps, CDs, DVDs and SD Cards, viruses and malware. There are three slightly different versions. Mac Basics v2.1 is for computers using Snow Leopard and Lion. Mac Basics v2.2 is for those using Mountain Lion. Mac Basics v2.3 is for those using Maverick.
iPad and iPhone also have familiarisation Courses which will give you a good start to using your iPad and iPhone.

iPad Basics (Four 2-hour lessons)

Covers iPad types, basic ops., multi-touch screen, setting up, creating iTunes accounts, opening, hiding & deleting apps, folders, keyboard, editing, settings, dictation, App Store, syncing, backing up, resetting, searching, Mail, Safari, reminders, maps. (3rd update April 2013).

KeyNote (Four 2-hour lessons)

What is Keynote?
Beautiful presentations for everyone. By everyone. With its powerful tools and dazzling effects, Keynote makes it easy to create stunning and memorable presentations. You can present your creation on the screen or have it projected onto a large screen for a conference.
It is an incredible presentations application similar to Window PowerPoint. It has powerful easy-to-use tools which produce dazzling effects in a slide show.

Numbers (Four 2-hour lessons)

Covers creating spreadsheets, styles, selecting cells, entering data, corrections, formulae & functions, filtering, freezing headers, reorganising, Inspectors, formatting, referring, searching, printing, creating templates, exporting, auto backing up.

Pages (Four 2-hour lessons)

Word processing is the phrase used to describe using a computer to create, edit, and print documents. Of all computer applications, word processing is the most common. To perform word processing, you need a computer, a special program called a word processor, and a printer. We achieve this by using a programme called Pages. Pages is a powerful word processor that lets you create documents that look beautiful and read beautifully. Download Pages for Mac or Pages for iPad or Pages for iPhone from the App Store.
Covers basic techniques, creating, importing and saving documents, templates, fonts, Inspector, Styles, Lists, breaks, sections, text boxes, objects, contents table, merging, footnotes and endnotes, printing, password protection.

Photo (Four 2-hour lessons)
